With the standard 79.2kWh Performance Battery , the estimated range is up to 431km; if Taycan is equipped with 93.4kWh Performance Plus Battery, the estimated range can reach up to 484km.*

Basically customers could handle the home-charging facilities installation with their commissioned electricians, however the risks of not meeting the required wiring and installation specifications are to be borne by customers.

What is the public charging landscape for the new Taycan?
With the optional Mode 3 Cable, you could charge your Taycan at over 2,700 public EV charging station including 370 Quick Charge stations and 1,200 Semi-Quick Charge stations.

Why the optimal charging status is 80% not 100%?
Due to the nature of physics and chemistry, the closer the battery is fully charged, the slower the charging rate it would be. Under quick-charge it is advised to charge only to a level with sufficient driving range and not to 100%. You can imagine charging a battery is like finding a spot in a carpark, if the carpark is empty it is faster to find a spot; but when the carpark is nearly full, it takes more time to find a empty spot. This theory applies to charging your Taycan. It is also better for battery maintenance to keep the battery not fully charged for a long period of time.

What does the recuperation output of 265kW of Taycan mean?
Different from combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles can recuperate up to 90% of braking energy and energy can be fed back into the battery and transformed into additional miles of driving pleasure. On the new Taycan the outstanding recuperation output of up to 265kW is the result of the innovative Porsche Recuperation Management (PRM) which originates from Formula E technologies. This innovation has greatly increase the performance efficiency and reduce the depreciation of braking system and maintenance costs.

What are the differences of the two charging ports on the left and right side of the Taycan?
The left side (passenger side) of the charging port is compatible with DC charger while both sides charging ports are compatible with AC charger.
